The warming humour of Kevin James will fill the void in our hearts much like pie does for him in this family comedy. With the help of his co-stars; antagonist Kier O’Donnell and love interest Jayma Mays, this feature film will offer an entertaining night for the whole family.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop will send laughs all throughout the house.

In this somewhat romantic comedy, Kevin James shows that love is strong enough for all sizes. With Jayma Mays as his love interest, she too shows that love isn’t only about appearances. This film delivers nothing that we haven’t already seen from our leading man as he continues to stick with light, romantic comedies yet again. After Hitch and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, his ability to contribute to an audience with members of all ages is truly appreciated. However, it would be nice to see something a little different from the big teddy bear that is Kevin James.

Jayma Mays appears in her first big hit since Epic Movie and finally its something we can appreciate. She shows compassion for all characters in this film and its something that you don’t see often, especially in a materialistic world such as ours. Meanwhile Kier O’Donnell’s appearance in the film is his first as a leading role. All I can say for him is “E for effort.” He gives a valiant effort at playing someone who is supposed to be cruel and scary. For me, he didn’t suffice my needs as a viewer. The only positive response for Kier is that he offers hilarious expressions of “what?” and “huh?”

Paul Blart: Mall Cop is the story of an aspiring police officer having to settle for being a mall cop. For years he has tried to apply as a police officer but has failed due to being overweight and hypoglycemic. Paul Blart (James) starts to fall for a new employee at the mall, Amy (Mays), who works at a hair accessory kiosk. Dealing with disrespect from all the people around him; customers and employees, he turns to Mays for friendship and perhaps more. After a hard day of work with new security officer Vick Sims (O’Donnell) he realizes that the mall has been taken hostage for a robbery.

Ready to evacuate Blart notices that Amy’s car is still in the parking lot indicating that she is still inside the mall and perhaps in harms way. Blart decides to take action and attempts to rescue all possible hostages when the worst prevails. The mall has been taken over by new security officer Sims along with his henchmen who are trained in acrobatic-like skills and the ability to take anyone down who gets in their way.
